Why chose “Moving the Widget” as this year’s theme?
“As professionals in the Logistics/Transportation industry, we are often asked what type of product we manage and move and the simplest yet
most helpful explanation is the “Widget.” The term has been around 100 years in our industry, but recently (in the internet era) it is becoming
more popular to describe a small application for computer software. We thought this would be a fun way to reclaim the word as it pertains to
Supply Chain, Logistics and Transportation. Officially, Merrian-Webster defines the word Widget as: “1. Gadget, 2. An unnamed article considered
for purposes of hypothetical example.” Operation Stimulus is the perfect vehicle to reclaim our prized possession before the internet moguls take it from us!”
